PROGRAM ORNITHOLOGICAL CIRCUIT IN MOROCCO
10 DAYS
Morocco combines the beauty of the landscapes and the diversity of the species of birds and wild fauna. It is a rich and preferred destination specialists and researchers as regards ornithology.
On the circuit approximately 240 species of the birds of Morocco can be observed.
1st day : arrival at Fès. Night at the hotel.
2nd day: Fès - Azrou
Visit of fes city.
Towards the discovery of the Average Atlas, in particular the sites of Dayet Aoua and Dayet Zerrouka, with possibility of seeing Foulque caronculée (Fulica cristata).
Then visit of the beautiful site of Afenourir. Night at the hotel at Azrou .
3rd days: Azrou
In the surroundings of Azrou and with the research of the Peak of Levaillant (Picus vaillantii) and raptors: Falcon crécerellettes (Falco naumanni), royal Milan, very rare species (Milvus milvus) and wild Tubes (Buteo rufinus). Night at the hotel Azrou .
4th day: Azrou - Midelt
By the road of Zaïda, we will have the occasion to observe the Falcon kobez (Falco vespertinus) rare species, the ashy Harrier (Circus pygargus), the Larks rise-collar (Eremophila alpestris), bilophe (E. bilopha), calenders (Melanocorypha calendered), of Clotbey ((Ramphocoris clotbey) and pispolette (Calandrella rufescens), Sirli of Dupont (Chersophilus duponti), the Traps of Seebohm (Oenanthe oenanthe seebohmi), wheatear (O. enanthe), oreillard (O. hispanica), with gray head (O. moesta) and of the desert (O. unset), as well as the Sparrows soulcie (Petronia petronia) and Tadorne casarca (Tadorna ferruginea) (in Aguelmane de Sidi Ali). Night at the Hotel at Midelt .
5th day: Midelt - Erfoud
On the road of the species quoted above can be observed. Towards the Hassan AD-Dakkhil dam, one can observe the Falcon of Cruelty (Falco pelegrinoides) and Sarcelles marbled (Marmaronetta angirostris), in addition to Ammomanes isabellines (unset Ammomanes) and Roselin githagine (Rhodopechys githegineus). Night at Erfoud.
6th day: Erfoud and Dunes of Merzouga
In direction of the sand dunes of Merzouga, it is likely to observe the white Traps isabelles (Oenanthe isabellina), Sparrows (To pass simplex), brown Corbeaux (Corvus ruficollis) and the Warbler of the Atlas (Sylvia deserticola).
Towards the lake Merzouga (if it is not drained) species can be observed. Night at the bivouac in sand.
7th day: Merzouga - Ouarzazate
The sites to be visited are those located at the neighbourhoods of the following localities: Jorf, Tinjdad, Tinghir, Boumalen Dadès and Kalaa Me gouna. Possibility of meeting russet-red Agrobate (cercotrichas galactotes) in the palm plantations and of the species of traps and larks with Boumalne of Dadès. In Kalaa Me Gouna: it is about a Peregrine falcon of the rare subspecies Falco peregrinus minor. Night at Ouarzazate hotel .
8th day: Ouarzazate - Agadir
Agadir direction via the plates of Tazenakht where it is possible to observe Sirli of the desert (Alaemon alaudipes), Alouette of Clotbey (Ramphocoris clotbey), Pipit rousseline (Anthus campestris). In the plain of Under starting from Aouluz the species present are: (Peregrine falcon “atlantis” = intermediate Falco peregrinus minor/F. p. brookei). Visit of Taroudannt and its Médina and continuation on the mouth of the Wadi souss, classified zone RAMSAR (reserve in the course of installation). There are many species there: (limicolous, laridés, flamingos, spatulas, ibis bald person, Tchagra with black head (Tchagra senegala), the paludicole Swallow (Riparai paludicola), Courvite Isabelle (Cursorius cursorius) and the Falcon lanier (Falco biarmicus).
Return in Agadir for the night hotel .
9th day: Agadir
In direction of north the Tamri site presents the ground of gagnage of the bald Ibis and other species.
Return in Agadir for the night hotel .
10th day: Departure.
