Trip Program

D1 - Arrival to Marrakech or Agadir, Hotel. Or Transfer to Hotel in Essaouira.

D2 - Free morning to visit Essaouira, the ancient Mogador, founded by the Portuguese in the XVI century. We visit this very picturesque and peaceful town built inside the walls of a fortress overlooking the sea. We can also walk along the fishing port and the narrow streets to admire the white and blue typical houses with their flower vases hanging on the windowsills.

After lunch we head south of Essaouira to Diabate beach and then to Diabate dunes (Ma lahlou), in front of the Mogador Island, where we camp.

D3 - Our camel caravan will start to the south along the coast and we follow aside admiring the beautiful views of long beaches accompanied by the sound of the billows and the seagulls. We will pass by some fishermen shelters on the beach and further ahead we will cross a forest of thuya and go over the cliff of Cape Sim where we will have an excellent view of this wild and scenic coast.

After a gentle descent we walk again on the beach to get to our camping place at the Sidi Kaouki beach (5h).

D4 - Trekking mostly on the beach, passing by some fishing villages with their stone houses and small vegetable gardens. They obtain scarce water from a communitarian well. The fishermen use wooden rowing boats to adventure themselves on this rough sea to throw their fishing nets.

When the trail along the seaside becomes difficult we will avoid it going over the cliffs using the trails made by the natives.

After about 5h30 hiking we will camp on a small valley close to a water spring in Aghbalou, or Sidi Mbarek village.

D5 - Today we cross an area where we will observe a few marabouts, small religious buildings where a venerated saint of the region is buried. The villages we cross on our way look very beautiful and giving you a panoramic view. In this region is cultivated the famous sapoutilha from which an oil is extracted to be used for lighting. At mid afternoon we will pass by the village of Tifardine with their houses of stone and small gardens with horticultural products.

After this, we descend to the beach and will camp near Sidi Ahmed Essayah or Iftane village where we can see another marabout. (5h30)

D6 - Walk on trails along the forest, going up and down the hills, because the coast is not accessible. At a certain point we need to go around the impassable cliffs of Cape Tafelnay and climb a water line across the forest of tuias and junipers. We pass by the villages of Tigart n'Boufous, Iskoua, Tagant n'Bou Dhag and go down to the beach and reach a small fishing port, Tafdena, a very lively port where we can buy fresh fish for dinner. We continue south and camp in Tafdna village. (6h)

D7 - Departure for our last leg , walking on the beach and then alternate between the sandy strand and interior land paths that margin the coast. We will see very few people, because the region is almost uninhabited, except for the village of Ifradane that we will pass by at the end of the morning. We will finally arrive at the fishing port of Timzguida Ouftasse (4h) and here we will take a transport to our hotel in Marrakech (3h) Agadir (2h30).

D8 - end after breakfast.

It is about a Trek without notable technical difficulty. It is necessary to be in good physical condition and to be able to go 5 to 6 a.m. each day, with a quiet rhythm. There is always a light back bag where the take minimum (gourd, food of race, camera...) All the luggage and food are transported by the Dromedaries or dromedary. When a medical problem (distortion for example), it is always possible to call upon dromedary. However, it should be known that the ground is not flat, that it is necessary sometimes to go up to climb a collar, that you will find certain stages a little long... In short, you will have physical feelings, it is certain, and it is necessary to have the desire and the spirit of hiking and walking.

The itinerary indicated will be able to undergo modifications imposed by the mean level of the group, or by the climatic conditions.

A slipping bag, a large bag for clothing (please bring only necessary clothes for your trip, in order to help dromedaries for carrying luggage), a small back bag for the day, walking shoes, crates, sandals for the bivouac, Kwe, polar, personal drugs, a gourd (1 litter or 2 litters), pastilles of water purification, sun lotion, a pair of sunglasses, cap, camera, a torch (frontal), spare batteries, toilet bag and other personal effects.
